To make the final result more attracting, try to choose a bold text style propably a heading font.

Step 1 - Creating a Blank document & writing the text.

Ok, first of all, we start by creating a new blank photoshop page and writing some text in it, "Hello !" in my case. I choosed this font it has some weight in it, i advice you to choose a bold font to get a better result as you will discover in the next steps.

Step 4 - Changing the color of the text.

Select your text, then with the color picker tool change the color of your text to make slightly darker than the color of your background. I choose the same blue color, but a little darker to make it feel like there is some light on the upper layer while the lower layer is logically darker because of the lack of light.

Step 5 - Creating the inner shadow effect using Layer Styles.

Now the main purpose of the tutorial which is the inner shadow effect. To create this, double click on the text layer on the right, select the inner shadow option from the popup layer style window. From the shadow options, decrease the opacity of the shadow to 30% and leave the blend mode as multiplue.
Decrease both distance & size of the shadow and set the value of these to "4" (As shown in the higlited circles below).
